ABOUT

ABOUT ERIKA AND HER CLAN...

Although I am the self titled "dreamer" in our family, truth be told it is my faithful, hard-working, left-brain, husband who brings all my unconventional ideas to life... and he comes up with quite a few of his own along the way as well. Together, we are raising our three adventurous children in the beautiful, diverse, tree-filled metropolis of Atlanta.

We are gearing up for one of our family's greatest adventures yet- homeschooling! When we aren't learning to read or practicing addition, our favorite memories include hiking, traveling, bonfires, and time spent with family and friends.

SO, WHAT'S WITH MANGO EUCALYPTUS?

Growing up in Northern California, Eucalyptus trees were everywhere; they lined the backyard of my grandparents house where we swam in the pool under their shade, they line city streets, and sprinkle golden hills with their silver bark and grey-green leaves. The moment my plane lands in California for a visit and the airport doors open, I breathe deeply in hopeful expectation of that bitter, salty air filled with Eucalyptus. Hands down, they’re my favorite tree.

I love mangos. Not only is orange my favorite color, but they are the epitome of juicy-fresh sweetness. They are nature’s candy.

When I combined these two words together it felt fresh, clean, simple, and earthy. A bit like how I try to build my life... although lets be real- that juice gets everywhere when I’m cutting a mango and dying Eucalyptus leaves have a nasty stench when sitting in old water for too long....aka life is messy too!

But Mango Eucalyptus Home is a place to reflect on the beauty of life, a place to be inspired by a simpler, slower pace, and be open and honest about the challenging days as well. Thanks for stopping by and maybe, just maybe, if you stop and take a deep breath, you can smell that bitter, briny air with me.
